I love any thing VC10....I was a crew member on 10 squadron from 1985-1989 then 1993-1996 just couldn't get enough of them. Hoping to be at the dinner in 2012 for all ex VC 10 cabin crew as they will be withdrawing the trade in march of that year.

Beautiful aircraft; I was lucky enough to fly in XV105 in 2008. Someone needs to preserved an RAF VC10 and soon! I love the sound of those Rolls-Royce Conways!

RR Conways also powered the 707-420 Intercontinental series. I would love to know what the Conways sounded like with the "daisy petal" sound suppressors (exhaust mixers) fitted on which is what the Conways had on that version of the 707. The forward sound was probably similar, but the exhaust was probably somewhat muffled thanks to the mixers. I hope one day someone posts a video of one of the last operating -420s so that we can hear what it really sounded like. Thanks for the VC-10 video!!!

Yes, the VC-10 was a wonderful aircraft. I lived very close to where they were built in Weybridge. They have a complete example there, plus the original BA test Concorde G-BBDG fully restored.
