2 years in Marathon. Im russian. Great place. Warm people (not all of the them :(), but we all the same - people with problems. And town is going through tough times. We have to respect people who lost jobs, mortgages to pay, kids to feed.
Yes, we do have a lot of police in Marathon!
I know police is watching us. We are russians. (How come russians are here? They can come with flash lights at night!
But they do what they need to do. We have good friends here.

Fuck all of you guys for saying its full of murders there has been like 10 at the most and that over a period of years. and know nothing like that is happening. I live here the most amazing town in the world so fuck you all that say its full of murders!

Well I grew up in this gorgeous little town and just recently moved back because it is such a wonderful place to be. Granted before its actual conception of being a community , there were murders , since it became an organized municipality there has been very little crime activity to speak of. Because of Marathon being such a young and vibrant town, the views and scenery are well maintained and not spoiled by developement. This makes Marathon a wonderful place to live and visit.

One more thing ...What Marathon WAS in the days of a population of tens of thousands when the rail way and the mill was being built ...And what is now, a dying pulp town that barely hanging on to the remaining population..The only thing left are the mine ...As long as gold is high .... And that all the good points ....

Wow Ive live here for 30+ years ....And Ive heard of a few murders ....But seriously I wouldn't call it alot .....And if so the OPP are really good @ covering up something like that here in a town of less than 4000 people ....Have you even been to this town ....And where did you do some research from .....As marathon is about as accessible on the internet as it is in real life ...For someone with a name My healing Soul you talk alot of garbage ...Not very healing to be bitter

A lot of murders? TOTAL BULLSH*T! It is true that way back in the 1800's as a rail-head town, and with more than 12000 men here, no doubt there were murders .Also,like everwhere else, there has been the very odd murder, HOWEVER these have been domestic. I can leave my doors unlocked without fear of being murdered or robbed ( thanks in no small part to the OPP and no doubt the town's location) Where this muppet got their information from,is a total mystery.Get your facts right!
