Nicks P.O.V.
It had been ten minutes and I was still waiting for Ashley. I had passed the kitchen when I saw her chatting like old friends with Nana. I stared.
"And then he started crying. Nick never used that Slip n Slide again!"
Ashley and Nana started giggling and I blushed. "Nana, you promised you wouldnt tell that story anymore!:" I said, giving her a little hug.
"She needs some laughs. She has to live with you. I glanced at Ashley, who was blushing and smiling. What for?
"So Nick, you ask Miley out yet?"
This time I blushed.
"Over Christmas break, Nana." I whispered.
Ashley put away some of the plates Nana had just washed. "You know, I dont think Miley is right for you. You know who would be a nice couple? You and-"
"NANA. Here are some forks you missed." Ashley interrupted. I gave her a blank stare. She looked down and pretended not to notice me. "Nana, what have you been telling Ashley?"
Nana smiled and patted my cheek. "Nothing you wont already know, my darling."
And she went upstairs. I looked at Ashley who grabbed her stuff and started walking to the car. I trailed her like a little dog. I hit the unlock button and opened Ashleys door for her. She gave me a little nod, probably her way of saying thank you, and I went to my side.
"Hey I dont know what Nana told you in there but-"
"Calm down. It was nothing badCaptain Underpants." I blushed and banged my head against my steering wheel. "She ALWAYS tells that story. She loves humiliating me."
"She just loves you."
I looked at her and she started looking out of the window again. I sighed. I just wished for once we could talk about things like normal people. But of course Ashley would never want to. That just wasnt her um"Style".
When I backed out of the driveway Miley was already standing there hands on hips and tapping her foot impatiently. When I opened the door she was ready for me.
"HEY Mister. We have a deal. Youre NOT late." Before I could say anything Ashley stepped in. "Sorry Miley it was my fault. I was talking to Nana and helped her wash the dishes."
Miley went back to her natural, chirpy self immediately.
"Oh thats okay. I though it was Nick that was late. But its okay if its you." She said smiling. Miley reached forward and kissed me on the cheek before turning on the radio. Paranoid started blasting through my speakers. "I love this song. Nick I still cant believe your father and his brothers were the actual JONAS brothers!"
Ashley snapped back into attention. "Wait, your father and his brothers were the Jonas Brothers?" I smiled. Finally I had managed to impress her. Its about time. "Yeah. Thats where we get the money from. Good old Dad, Uncle Dane and Uncle Steve."
"Wow. I love their music. I have all of their albums except for their very first one. My mom used to have it but she lost it when she moved to my house."
Finally we were getting somewhere.
"Well I have the whole collection, and some CDs they made that were never released. When we get homewanna listen to them?" Ashley smiled and nodded.
"That would be really fun."
I smiled back. Jackpot.
