Good movie thanks! It helped me alot except... What is a real number?
-
@ProjektFreedom there all real numbers there part of real numbers
-
@ProjektFreedom It should not surprise you that any given number can be a rational number and a real number. Just try to thing of these "sets" of numbers like clubs.I am one person, but I can belong to more then one club. I can be a democrat and I can be a boyscout. It just so happen that ALL rational numbers are real numbers but all real numbers are not rational numbers.

Thank you sooo much! This helped a lot. I've taken two years of Algebra, and this has NEVER stuck with me.....until now. :)

1. Real numbers is one that you would expect to find on the number line. And real numbers can be categrergorized as rational or irrationsl.
2. A rational number can be any arithmetic that can be any whole number, fraction, mixed number or decimal and can be expressed as a fraction of whole numbers. The constant pi is irrational because it cannot be expressed as a fraction.
3. 0.3 is real and rational. 0.3 can be expressed as 3/10.
Hope this helps. Dr J
