To Cambridge Heights: So sorry about your friend. I was diagnosed with cancer 29 yrs. ago while pregnant with my second child - was told if I didn't abort " the fetus " and have a radical hysterectomy I would die. I used vibrational and alternative healing only and am still here and cancer free. Western medicine & vibrational healing could join hands in facilitating healing. I had no chemo or radiation. My ex husband did, it seemed to worsen his condition (leukemia) and finish him off.

This is some really freaky shit! I do believe in healing energies... but you can go over the top with the wrong ones. I believe that this reiki is a real thing, but it sure doesn't appeal to me.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Reiki is never to replace traditional medicine or medical treatment. It was designed to compliment traditional medical treatment and help with self healing. Again, I am so sorry for the friend. Peace & Light...

It's all fine and dandy until someone decides to forgo medical treatment for this voodoo. I know a woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer. She decided to try reiki instead of lumpectomy with adjuvant chemotherapy. She was convinced that the reiki was working, but by the time she realized that it wasn't, the cancer metastasized to her lymph nodes. Eventually it ended up in her bones. She's dead now.
