It's been two and a half years since this performance, probably about three years since I first heard this song, and I still cry every single time that I hear it. David is such a great performer, but beyond that, he seems like an even better person. I give him SO much respect for going on stage and being able to perform any song, but especially this one, so soon after his brother died. David may not be the most successful Idol winner, but by far, he's the best in my book!

I just heard this on American Idol being sung during audition!!! Brought me to tears.

@fkutwo When he performed this, he brother had already passed away. That's why he has the black band around his arm. He was mourning. He tears up throughout the performance. It really is sad to watch, but I have a great respect for him.

Why is he using a mic?? Not sure why he needs one with a godly voice like that!!!!

This made me cry too... David is wonderful person with wonderful voice.

This means so much to me right now... I've lost so many people at my church this year and David's music has always been there to listen to. I'm grieving just as much as he is/has. Blessed be.

As much emotion is pouring off the stage, the teenage girls waving their arms and screaming really take away from it.
