The person is practicing their Japanese. If you don't constantly use a language, you'll forget it.
At least this person believes in doing something that's actually useful like learning another language while being entertained.
Jpop and other Japanese media is fun, but it won't get you anywhere in life. Foreigner language will though. I take it pwnofthedead is a high school dropout who will never make it anywhere in life.
