Sept. 23, 2003 - Congressman Barney Frank (D)MA address Multiple Sclerosis patients at a press conference hosted by NORML and the Multiple Sclerosis Patients Union. Observing that the people are far ahead of the politicians on the medical Cannabis (marijuana) issue, Rep. Frank feels that patients and doctors need be the only determiner of access to medicine - citing that state and local governments went around the FDA to get medicines from Canada.
After hearing a fellow MS patient express their plight, the MSPU members visit their elected representative's offices.

Please congress, please return dignity to we, the patients. Let us stop living in fear of being arrested and possibly harmed, incarcerated or worse. Reschedule cannabis so doctor's can write recommendations and patients and researchers can have a safe, legal means to access this herb for therapeutic uses and research. Equal treatment and protection under the law is our constitutional right!
