In March 2009 the Armed Forces of the Philippines launched a "police action" against Ameril Umbra Kato, a renegade commander of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
The military's nightly artillery shelling and the frequent ground slashes have killed few fighters, but displaced hundreds of thousands of civilians.
Those displaced are the living casualties of the Mindanao conflict.

  • the reason our moro bretheren wanted to segregate themselves from the rest of the country simply because the govt is not extending equal rights and benefits to the people there. keeping the Ampatuans in power for 8 or so years so the govt could pilfer votes in Muslim provinces shows the govt's lack of sincerity and exploitative attitude towards our moro countrymen. and GMA was not the first administration who have used the muslims to further their own interests.

  • there were no discrimination nor condemnations to our brother muslims, this is just the reason that they are trying segregate them selves from the christians and to build a different gov't of their own. Our gov't with the help of the afp and effort of our president speaks louder than a written or agreement of peace., the gov't has brighter future for us, just give them the chance, we can't solve this problem with guns and ammo., just give love a chance to grow in us and let it seed to 1 another.

  • @DopeyShadey - im not saying the Quran be studied in schools, but knowledge of our celebratory days, cultural dress and various Moro Traditions should be included in school textbooks, it will be positive

also a basic study of our belief system and way of life will evidence that you value your neighbors and may learn a few things of interest

our contribution to this country in warding off colonizers should also be highlighted

this are few solutions to stop discriminations in Moro Identity

  • @thelastmoro being a muslim and a christian is only a small part of being a filipino. your culture is also mine but if your pointing out how koran is not being thought as much in school well you have another thing coming.

its up to your Mosque to teach islam and its up to the Roman catholic church to teach christianity among others.. brushing out discrimination is the only solution in removing hate in this country.

  • @DopeyShadey being willing to have dialogue exercising mutual respect is part of the solution.

dont brush our cry of discrimination under the carpet, brushing it aside will not solve it, thats not a solution

imagine both of us are in the 'negotiating table'- you have to hear me and answer my accusation and show me proofs that i am NOT being prejudiced

my proof of discrimination is, our culture is not being given fair time in schools north or even here in the south of the country, why?

  • @thelastmoro what response are you looking for? mindanao is for bangsamoro and the out sider pigs should stay out of the supposed territory because mindanao was never part of the philippines. hence the name "bangsamoro"

I am sick of hearing the same old crap that Muslims is discriminated and they are not given a fair share.. now that we have a new president what happens to the rebels and extremist? they are still there, why? MONEY.. so don't point out prejudice.. instead be part of the solution

  • @DopeyShadey

Im not spreading hate sir, thats why i encourage dialogue between my community and their community

i just might have a prejudiced concept and they might have as well, i want peaceful, respectful dialogue to test this

so that both communities fears might just be an imagination and not real

so far no response from other side...sad isnt it?

  • @thelastmoro "non- Moro" that is your problem. you segregate others and you think mindanao is only for muslim filipinos. but you sir is wrong. there are alot of christians and muslims who get along well in mindanao.

    don't spread hate son.

  • mga bro... kahit kelan wag nyong asahan na magkakaruon ng permanenteng kapayapaan ang mga muslim at kristyano d2 sa mindanao.... wag nyo na itanong qng baket.. alam nyo din
