Obama - "I love America"

Sen. Barack Obama emphasized his patriotism in a speech to a veterans group Tuesday.

My Perspective: Yet another EXCELLENT speech by Obama. No teleprompters, no scripts..nothing. This is Obama at his best.

He's on a prompter... presidential panels out of frame. OR big LCDs on the floor or elsewhere. These guys would never risk it without one. Believe me. :14 to :17 - dead giveaway. Also, he never addresses the middle of the crowd. He's glued to those panels. He's just like everyone else - reading a script written by 9 other people. But, that's how it works, I guess.

That may be true..but it is indeed very subtle and not obvious as you make it seem.

McCain on the other hand seems to be proud reading from a script. This guy always has a piece of paper directly in front of him, or a teleprompter.

Obama deserves some credit for this speech, plenty came from within..not just from the prompter.

Well, every word did come from the prompter, but I guess he deserves credit for reading it well, for whatever that's worth. Whether it's obvious or not is beside the point. That is an argument of whether he's a good or bad prompter reader. It's a great speech - written by speechwriters - but a great speech nonetheless. I just don't want people to think this was extemporaneous. People think too much of these guys. Dr. Phil's a good prompter reader too, so...
