It's almost a new year and the battle to stop the three-peat and take down Los Angeles is nearing. Do you think the Lakers have what it takes to three-peat and hang up that 17th banner? We will have to wait and see.

Lakers started off with a bang! The have slowed down a bit this month but are undefeated since Bynum's return. There have been a few surprises this season. The Miami Heat, the most anticipated team to watch this season, surprisingly went off to a slow start but have bounced back by demolishing teams and have a double digit winning streak to prove it. Ginobli and the San Antonio Spurs are at the top of the West by ripping out the hearts of there opponents with last minute buzzer beaters and clutch plays. The Boston Celtics have stayed as an elite team and lead the East with veteran leadership. Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic have made HUGE changes this week by picking up Gilbert Arenas, a former superstar with still much potential, and bringing back Hedo Turkoglu who was a big threat in the 2009 NBA finals (how can we forget that tough sticking out).

There are many more upgrades not mentioned but the Lakers are still the team to beat. With that said:

LET THE GAMES CONTINUE! I can't wait for the post-season...
