Podcast #25 misinforms: forest fires were likely caused by accident. Palestinian and international volunteers were setting fires in land-clearing operations in a West Bank olive grove. The fire spread across the border. 'Where were the media", ask Yarden and Benson? In fact there was widespread coverage of the arson allegation in the media, and a later story that the fires were probably an accident. Please withdraw this video and let's keep Honest Reporting Honest! --Stan Goldman

if you are a jewish person you know better than anybody the dangers of extreme nationalism
please think about it

@StraussBR Biblical? How about during Roman times, when Romans conquered the JEWISH kingdom of Judea, and the sacking of the JEWISH city of Jerusalem during the Roman-Jewish war, dont need a Bible for that. "Settlements"? How about the "settlements" of the million+ Arabs in Israel... oh, those arent "settlements" (nor is Israel building in their own country "settlements"). Maybe if the Arabs didnt discriminate or force people from their land, then there would be no "settlements".
-
That is a silly argument, if we start to claim land from biblical times the world would be a mess
considering the context of post ww2 it is understandable jews struggling for a homeland.
What i'm against is the agressive expansionist stance israel has taken in the last years, there is no more palestine, just settlements and "JEWISH land"
what would you think about the pre 67 borders?
-
@StraussBR The fact that the British Mandate was controlling JEWISH land in Israel makes it not the land of Arabs. Israel has been the homeland of the Jewish people for over 2000 years (much longer, but I wont argue the specifics), Arabs had been there for less than 1200 years by the 1900s. It would be proper to return the land to those of whom it is their homeland, not a ethnic group that has only occupied the land in recent years.
-
That is precisely the point, it was a "british" mandate, as was in india, that doesn't make the state less Indian or less Palestinian.
You see, the british where the other europeans ocupiying palestine back then
-
@StraussBR "already existing state"? Which one? The British Mandate was the only "existing state" and was working to create both the Jewish and Arab states (before 1970s "Palestinians" was a reference to the Jews, not Arabs). The Jews, along with the Druze and Beduins, were given no choice but to fight for their own country as the Arabs were rioting and committing mass murders of the non-Arabs (and eventually declared all out war).

Good work guys!
many years ago Yasser Arafat & Bin Laden met. Bin Laden was very concerned and asked Arafat, "Why is it the you have been a terrorist for several decades and nobody declared a war on you. Whereas I only bombed one building and a few airplanes, and the whole world is out to get me"?
Aha, answered Arafat, I only killed Jews........... that's your answer.

@StraussBR ??!?!!? Are you kidding me?!? Your arguements go from innane to absolutely stupid. I support a country that protects peoples rights and freedoms. Jews, Muslims, Christians, Athiests, Gays, and all others are protected in Israel. While in the West Bank and Gaza: Jews, Christians, "the wrong Muslims", Athiests, Gays, and anyone who "goes against the ruling dictators" are persecuted and murdered, all while state sponsored terrorists kill civilians (both Israeli and other).
