Peg & Slot Rotary Drive, 1995

Another unusual wooden mechanical device made by my friend Del. At the core of this machine are two discs: a large one with 6 grooves from edge to center (just like cutting a pie), and a small one with 3 protruding pegs that "ride" in the grooves.

At 2:45 there is an excellent look of a jig or machine made from wood over the fellows left shoulder.

The wooden machine appears to be about 2.5 feet tall maybe 3 feet at the most. Its built from wood. The top pivitos on an axis. There appears to be a some sort of tool rest or holder at the top.

What is this jig called and what is it used for?
