Carla Stehr, at NOAA's Northwest Fisheries Science Center in Seattle, WA is not only an electron microscopist, but an artist. In April of 2009, an exhibit of her photographs taken with a scanning electron microscope opened at the Seattle Aquarium, and this companion video to "Sea Unseen," which screened at the exhibit's premier, shows you how Carla is inspired by her work to go beyond photography into quilt making.

This video was produced by NOAA's Ocean Media Center and the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) in Seattle, WA. For more information, visit the AFSC website at http://www.afsc.noaa.gov/ and Northwest Fisheries Science Center website at http://www.nwfsc.noaa.gov/
