In a speech on the Senate floor on Oct. 19, 2011, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) says,

"...and it's very clear that private sector jobs are doing just fine. It's the public sector jobs where we've lost huge numbers, and that's what this legislation's all about. And it's unfortunate my friend the Republican Leader is complaining about that."

  • we need MORE meter-maids on our backs! wOOhOO !

  • This not rocket science. If 50% of us worked for government and government is supported by income taxes, how well would that work?

Just work your way back from that 50% figure, to find out what your idea is of how much government our economy can afford.

If the private sector is doing fine, then any laid off workers from the public sector should be able to find jobs and engage in entrepreneurial pursuits in the private sector, as freedom permits. What's the problem here?

  • well of course he wants more government jobs, they are the most reliable of democrat voters !!!

  • How did the good people of Nevada re elect this moron??
