In the evening of December 25 we return from our successful filming at the highland nurseries in Nuwara Eliya to our hotel at the beach of Mount Lavinia. However, there remains not much time to relax as in the morning of December 26 the terrible tsunami hits the shore. Only the lucky circumstance that our hotel has been build on an approximately 3 m high rock saves us from serious trouble. Fortunately the nurseries of Borneo Exotics have not been damaged but Rob and Diana experience another strange and hard to describe desaster. At their highland property numerous wonderful and precious Nepenthes have to be devastated ... for license reasons ... simply unbelievable.

  • OH MY GOD!!!!! why in hell would you burn Neps?!?!?!!? This isn't very different from burning people!!! Man... This is just plain sickening. Maddcatone, you are exactly right! Why should just one person be entitled to a cultivar??? Sickening.

  • This topic is actually strange. Imagine that meanwhile there is a kind of "gene-police" active in the USA to scrutinise if farmers grow corn containing MONSANTO "round-up resistant" genes. If they find this the farmer has to pay license for it or to terminate his harvest. A desaster and the same strange story of gene-license, but even worse with human nutrition.
