I have to agree.. the tiger was in a submissive pose

Watch closely... the tiger is laying down, holding its head low, face extended upwards. Its ears are low and back, it sticks its tongue out slightly, narrows its eyes and puffs its lips... this is classic submission. Sorry. Its you that are wrong.

When big cats are frightened, they are used to pushing backward their ears and laying, sometimes tigers win and sometimes lions win, in this case it seems to be a tiger under submission. Cheers.
