Greetings, this is my first video upload although it's actually a slideshow. I've tried getting my bearings on the whole process, and am very much a novice in the digital age in this capacity (what with pixels, wave files, compression, sound and video protocol, etc).

This is a slideshow of thumbnail photographs I found on the internet (where else...LOL), and decided to create a presentation of these mostly nature shots of sunsets and sunrises with a most beloved song by John Denver called "Welcome To My Morning" from his Farewell Andromeda album from 1973.

I chose this slideshow because the song to me evokes an air of celebration of life, and the gloriousness of Mother Earth as well even though the song isn't about that. In truth, John's music could mean anything to anyone at anytime, and was a concept that he embraced and promoted in his concerts and in his albums.

Hopefully this comes out okay, and can be enjoyed as it is intended.

Take care and have fun!

  • Wahat gorgeous pictures to go with the perfect song!

  • @fan825 Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed them and thanks for your nice comment. I'm better with selecting pictures nowadays. The song needs no improvement!

  • The version of this song he did on An Evening with John Denver had lots of spunk and get up and go....this one eases you into your day...and both make you smile!

  • @txbadgirl1 I love 'em both. The original one has a nice "original" flavor to it on the 6 string, and the "Evening With" version features his 12 string and a fuller sound. Both are great though. I've always slightly favored this one though.

  • how can people say there is no god when pictures like the ones on this video are so beautiful. and what about our own personal talents and gifts? like John D's voice? We as human being take these things for granted. there will be a day when it will change. you will all see. just have faith

  • Rachael is on the right track. This is a beautiful song, shared by one person. Imagine what would happen if 6 billion individuals got together to ensure those sunrises and sunsets will last.

  • reminds me of a wonderful girl from the north named Sandy, whenever i hear the song i am reminded of her pleasant character :)

  • @vanjane There was an "Andromeda Quasar" mentioned on a couple of early albums, and Andromeda is listed as a singer. I've never seen it discussed as to where the Andromeda came from for that particular album other than perhaps because John was an amateur astronomer and Andromeda is the closest galaxy to the Milky Way. Or maybe they were saying goodbye to Andromeda! But I also grew up on his music.

  • @jrssjdca I knew I remembered the word Andromeda from somewhere. We were brought up on this music.

  • @vanjane The album is called "Farewell Andromeda" and the song is actually entitled "Welcome To My Morning" although I've seen the title as "Welcome To My Morning (Farewell Andromeda)" or "Farewell Andromeda (Welcome To My Morning). I most often see it as "Welcome..."

  • @lovesarita You're most welcome, glad you liked it. And I agree, I love this song.

  • my favourite , absoloutely love it!
