Our holiday 2008
Coastal areas: The south coast is more sheltered and there are several broad estuaries offering safe anchorages, such as at Falmouth and Fowey. Beaches on the south coast usually consist of coarser sand and shingle, interspersed with rocky sections of wave-cut platform. Popular places are the picturesque fishing villages of Polperro and Mousehole; the fishing ports of Looe and Porthleven - all featured in this clip!
The north Cornish coast on the Celtic Sea (Atlantic Ocean) is more exposed and wilder: imagine the mythical Tintagel! The high cliffs (the highest being 223 m between Boscastle and St Gennys) have many stretches of fine golden sand which form the beaches at Bude, Polzeath, Watergate Bay, Perranporth, Porthtowan, Fistral Beach, amazingly beautiful Newquay, St Agnes and the more 'Mediterranean' St Ives. There The estuary of the River Camel provides Padstow and Rock with a safe harbour.
Inland areas: The interior of the county consists of a roughly east-west spine of infertile and exposed upland, with a series of granite intrusions, such as Bodmin Moor. The intrusion of the granite into the surrounding sedimentary rocks gave rise to extensive metamorphism and mineralisation, and this led to Cornwall being one of the most important mining areas in Europe until the early 20th century. The uplands are surrounded by more fertile, mainly pastoral farmland. Near the south coast, deep wooded valleys provide sheltered conditions for flora that like shade and a moist, mild climate.

I was camping that year with my family around Fowey. I remember the clouds. Going to Cornwall this year with two little Children. Fingers crossed for a freak sunny summer. Good video

Is it only through this film that I can notice such beauty and sensitivity?
