My mother, a Sangeeta Siromani from Delhi who studied under TRS and VV Sadagopan in the sixties, would tell me, listening to Ariyakudi would make her contented, Semmandugi would make her thoughtful, KVN would make her exalted, and GNB would leave her exhilarated.
But only Madurai Mani would leave her in tears after listening to him sing. Such was his nada!
