here in about 2 or 3 weeks im going to put a new head gasket on my 2.2. its leaking coolant externally so far, really bad, and im going to see how the condition of the motor is with 343,000 miles, but the head gasket was done before long time ago, but its failing again because someone reused torque to yeild bolts, which is wrong, once they are streached thats it no reusing, if you reuse these type of bolts it wont torque right and leak again.

Give me more videos lol. should make an update on the cavalier

You should probably vacuum that coolant out of the head bolt holes.

Damn.. the original owner of this car must not have had a clue how to take care of it. I mean it's a low mileage 2.2L pushrod Cavalier - it doesn't get much simpler. To blow 2 head gaskets in 69K miles on that car takes some effort.
Glad to see you got it going, these are great economy cars, unlike a lot of newer vehicles who try to carry that label. Affordable, simple, and the parts are inexpensive.

@yorgle11 Judging by the state of the exterior and interior, I think this poor car has had a hard life.

just because the rockers move, doesnt rule out timing chain, they could just be moving on the wrong stroke.

@1981caballero350 Im sure it jumped time, but if the rockers are moving the timing chain is in once piece. If it was snapped just the pistons would be moving.
