@watermelon668 many times during the series she says that she wishes to go up there, just cuz she she wants 2 b there, she isn't going to sit around dreaming, and not adventure in the ocean. sure, i hate the sequel too, but the prequel isn't that bad and the series is better

@watermelon668 She was 16 years old in the movie ;) In the original story she only got really interested in things on land when her sisters started to get old enough to go above shore on their birthday's (being the youngest she had to wait longer, and hear about what they saw). And they could only go up once! So I think the Disney movie gave her more of an interest than the original character had, not that I'm complaining, I like the movie alot. So she didn't grow up dreaming of the shore :p
