Disneyland Main Street Electrical Parade (1986)

"OUT OF THE DARKNESS IT WILL COME. BIG AS TWO CITY BLOCKS. WITH 700 LEGS, 5,000 EYES AND IT FEEDS ON ELECTRICITY. WHEN YOU SEE IT, YOU WILL NEVER FORGET IT"

This is one of my all-time favorite commercials and joins the ranks along with other classics like Carpeteria, Zodys, Dial Chevrolet, the Norton Simon Museum with Candice Bergen, Cal Wothington (Ford, Dodge, etc) and other local SoCal commercials. This was from 1986 and in the era when Disneyland was Disneyland. Walt Disney World may have used the same ad, too. Disneyland was never the same after the Main Street Electrical Parade left in 1996. But now, the classic Parade is back and is GLOWing down the darkened streets of Disney's California Adventure since 2001. IMO, it belongs back in Disneyland's Main Street USA!

Super cool! 1986 was the year I was born too! ^_^ This was when the parade was in its prime. "Disneyland was never the same after the Main Street Electrical Parade left in 1996." <|----- Amen brother. It was SO herd to go back to Disneyland after the parade left. It took me 6 years to get the gumption to go again.

You know, jeffgodden! As much as I love this parade, I did have odd dreams about it, particularly since they had a Sleeping Beauty (Chinese) Dragon during the 1972-1974 run. I could see how we could be scared of this parade as a child with spinning snails, turtles and fireflies coming at you, lol!
