@TheMysteriousAtheist Well actually Goku never really wants to kill anybody. He first tries to show mercy in the hopes that it will lead to some redemption like with Piccolo, Vegeta, and Majin Buu, but part of his character development is that he learns some villains refuse to change and must be killed for the greater good. Which is why Goku was ok with helping Piccolo kill Raditz and ok with killing Frieza.

@KingNazaru that makes sense. It doesn't seem like Goku ever really intended to kill Frieza, which seems odd. He had no problem helping kill radditz, his brother, but killing the universes most evil tyrant was beyond him

Frieza: What? Fine. I'll just blast you into oblivion like that other earthling.

Goku: Other Earthling? You mean Krillin? You'll pay for that!

the dialog in this fight was confusing.. was goku actually intending to kill frieza or not? When he talks to King Kai as frieza is powering up to his max goku talks as if he is going to let frieza go..
