SOO line engine 1003 heads home to Hartford from Madison, WI. It is seen here leaving the former C&NW yards after the 25th anniversary celebration of the WSOR railroad on 7/25/05.
why is it that it has all those hoppers and one tank car? i may be wrong because im guessing, but are those cars meant to replenish her supply when it runs low, or is it a "railfan special"?
AFAIK the tank car is for water and the hoppers just tag along, perhaps for breaking power or for looks. I'm not aware that it was a railfan photo special, though.

It's located at Hartford, WI in the auto museum there but doesn't get out much. Typically runs on the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad.

Indeed. An ALCO graduate from 1913. There's a webpage about it at sooline1003 (plus the usual dots that the tube rejects).
