Louise Zemaitis, Field Coordinator for the Cape May Bird Observatory, tells us about the fall Monarch Butterfly migration. Cape May County is a prime location to watch this phenomenon, Stone Harbor Point being an active spot.

  • I though butterflies only lived a couple weeks. If so how do they migrate halfway across North America?

  • I've seen them in the dunes in Avalon in the fall- such a beautiful, amazing sight!

    

  • i was fortunate enough to see the migration on the beach here at assateague. it is mind blowing.who woulda thought??? they were so thick, that you couldn't help but walk into them,beautiful sight!!
