For a while, Rota worked with Luchino Visconti and Il Gattopardo and Rocco e i Suoi Fratelli count as two of Rota's absolute best scores. This is a lesser known soundtrack to Le Notti Bianche (aka. White Nights), the track is taken from Film Music from www.camoriginalsoundtracks.com which features several more wonderful obscure Rota themes that shouldn't be obscure at all, including The Glass Mountain, Napoli Milionaria, Sunset Sunrise, War & Peace, The Taming of the Shrew, Romeo & Juliet, Purple Noon, etc. etc. Wonderful re-recordings. You are not a true fan of Nino Rota if you consider him as Fellini's composer.
it's beautiful

You can hardly get a more heartbreaking finale than the one in this movie.
