  • following is an excerpt from the ABC show "can we help" that aired on Friday 3 November 2006

    The Kernigans sold Matilda in 1983.

    Ewan Stephens a honey farmer in Mole Creek Tassie began to buy pieces of Matilda in 1994 and rebuilt her over the next two years with both original and cannibalised parts. He uses the world’s first jet powered truck that broke the former world speed record at 228mph to deliver his payloads of honey.

  • i used to live at Etanogah a little bit closer to albury then the pub is and my grandfather had a farm which we lived on..and in one of our shed which is just up from trek 41 the motel for locals and truck driver..And thats where waltzing matilda lived for alot of years then ray moved to qld and took the truck with him and then sold to a qld and from there im not sure

    but as they are family friends i will find out for sure and post back
