He was the finest British tenor of the 20th century. the likes of denis O'Neil cannot hold a candle to this man. This is singing of the highest level, and, shows that English can be sung well, unlike at present at the ENO.
One could reasonably make the case that Charles Craig was the finest ENGLISH tenor of the 20th Century. His voice had a clarion quality as opposed to the somewhat jejune production of his counterparts. Thanks for posting this rarity. I wish he had recorded more frequently. Five stars!
I saw him several times relatively late in his career - and he was still remarkable into his 60s ... his manrico and otello were both magnificent!

i didn´t know Mr.Craig before. Myself I m a High Lyric Tenor. From now on I m a Big Fan of his great Art. I will study him.
