The only reason why i hide it from my family is because i live with them(i do hint at it though). Once i get a place of my own, i will go all out & get out of the "atheist closet".(my friends already know & it turns out that they are atheist too.)

I have only just now in the past few weeks thought of myself as an atheist so your comment on my mortality really struck me as scary. Thank you for the help

@huxtiblejones Especially a God that didn't use the mechanism of Evolution, and certainly not the God of The Monotheistic religions, seeing as they are provably plagiarisms of older religions.

@666nonbeliever The stupidest thing they did when they made up the religion was declaring him crucified by the Romans! Because the Romans crucified people by securing each of them to a cross or some other frame at five points of the body (four we know about) in an unspeakably shameful manner. Great PR tool! Hahahaha, not.

Very great video! Normal and relatable. Where on earth can I find information on evolution that is approachable? I'm baffled that it's so hard to find something that shows the intricacies of evolution without being so scientifically baffling. Is there anything that's in sort of plain English (or Spanish haha)? I'm really wanting to learn more.
Thanks! Great video!
Why does science disprove religion?
MrKli4d 1 year ago
@MrKli4d Science doesn't 'disprove' religion, it just offers a picture of the universe that works without intelligence, without direction. It shows us that life could (and most likely did) arise through entirely abiotic processes that took place over billions of years. You can't disprove god in the same way you can't disprove Santa or the Tooth Fairy, but given the evidence we have accumulated, the likelihood of god's existence becomes vanishingly unlikely.

By doing this video, you are preaching what you claim to be against, you shun religion for frowning upon people and restricting people, but you are doing the same, you are shunning people just for having a religion, and you are restricting people to just petty science. Are they not allowed an opinion or view? Atheism isnt a religion, its just a term for someone who doesnt believe in a religion, yet you are talking like its a religion! Im not religious, but i completely shun this video. Not cool.

Are you kidding me? You offered not one example of what you say, just empty accusations. This video is meant to encourage atheists who have to hide their beliefs from people who would persecute them for a differing view. I'm not trying to 'convert' people or convince them to give up their religion, this video is intended for people who have already done that.
And how am I 'shunning' people for having a religion? I think you didn't even watch this video.

You should also reconsider calling science 'petty.' Name for me one major breakthrough in the history of humankind that came from mysticism or superstition. Science is a flame in a world of darkness that reveals the physical nature of the universe in which we exist. The very fact that you are on this computer trashing science and me with absolutely nothing of merit to say is solely because science discovered the means to do it.
Please be more accurate in how you phrase what you say.

All you're saying is "Based on the current scientific consensus, the existence of a deity is improbable". Any other statement regarding the existance of god falls outside the realm of science, which is inadequate to describe the idea of a deity. You're using a flawed argument to support your argument re: evidence. Its like using a tire gauge to measure oil in a car. No evidence is found but the oil still exists. I'd place you in the "weak atheist" to "agnostic" category now .

It would not be acceptable to demand that people believe in gravity without some sufficient evidence. If religious folks can pray to god, if they can have a relationship with him, if he can physically reach and touch the minds of humans so that they know he exists, then that is within the realm of science. If god created the universe, that is a scientific claim. If any single one of those religious claims is valid there WILL be evidence for it.
WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE?
