Inside the Blue Room studio. You can't see the kick drum mic because it's internally mounted. In the photographs in order of appearance; Me, my dad, Joel Spencer, Buddy Rich, Art Blakey. The music is something I'm working on. I'm running Logic Pro on my mac with an Apogee Rosetta 800 interface. The sax is a Yanagisawa T992 bronze tenor.

  • Nice work man and love your vintage drum kit. Whats making the melodic or midrange ethereal electronic sounds by the way ? Keep it up. M

    ps Nice Blakey photo

  • @maraisdecygnes Thanks. Those drums are only 5 years old, actually, a custom set I designed and helped build. The music in the background is from my latest album. The album is called "Vocal Hair Helper", it's on iTunes.

  • Hahahaha, I love that there's a copy of Stick Control sitting on the stand by the drums! You can never use that book too much.

  • @PanOrpheus I never practice without it, even after 20 years.

  • What is your mac? Macbook Pro 13, 15, 17?

  • @willregnier That is a 15" macbook pro.

  • Nice, As tribute to your vibe I downloaded it off Amazon tonight. You have some Anthony Sanchez and some of the great jazz drummers in your playing style. No response is a great track. What did you use for the electronic melodic line instrument wise on this track ?

  • @maraisdecygnes You're awesome. The only live instruments on that album are the drums, everything else are Midi instruments in logic, and samples that I created & sequenced. I think what you are referring to might be the "ghost piano" in logic, which is essentially a piano sound with a heavy dose of plate reverb and low pass filtering. There are cello tracks in there as well. Thanks again.

  • @thudmother Have you ever had problems with it? Because I'm looking for one of those to run some music programs... And is it the standard 15'' Macbook Pro or have you changed some of the specs when you bought it? Thanks
