Phil also played on Peter Gabriel's third solo record where he learned the trick of gated drums, he has applied that sound to everything he did ever since.

I think, by the good state of Peter's hair, this was about 1986 or the beginning of 1987. Peter's hair didn't look so full in 1988. Hair loss might have started around 1987.
