I despise Rush Limbaugh's politics but this quote was taken way out of context at the time. I had wished that Bush would fail to convince America to go to war in Iraq and it's only natural for Mr. Limbaugh to hope that policies that he disagrees with fail.

Now, I despise all the juvenile attitudes the Far Right has displayed over the past four years, but that's NOT the same thing as respectful and civil opposition. That being said, I think Rush HAS been extremely petulant throughout the Obama administration - I just happen to understand that this spiel is not one of those petulant moments.

As obnoxious as Limbaugh sounds here, I'm hesitant to reprimand him. If you're passionate about various political issues, it's natural to hope your opponents won't get their way. Indeed, the whole point of two-party politics is so that the minority will always have a voice. It doesn't always work but that's the basic idea.

If Romney had won last year and Republicans had re-captured the Senate, I'd definitely be hoping that their political agenda failed to get passed.
