  • @LazloDoe I had mine for 14 years. It finally got plugged up and wouldn't drain so i had to have it removed.

  • Thats true, dont wait to have the surgery, the longer you wait, the worse it gets, and will come back. Thats why i didnt wait, and got it looked at and operated on, when i first noticed something was up. I didn't have the cyst at the top of the cocyx though, I had 2 sinus holes which were lower in my natal cleft, and had a z-plasty done, with all infected tissue removed. The only downfall is with the z-plasty, you loose about 2-3 inches of your crack, which will be sewn over, and will be flat.

  • This reminds me of Pump Up the Volume.

  • You know I totally agree with you I have one of these things from HELL but on the contrary Im not afraid to talk about it but I refuse to have surgery......I HATE this thing ugh!!!!

  • I think I might have this condition although it appears to be a large protruding pimple rather than a boil at the bottom of my spine.

Thanks to this video among others, I think I'll refrain from going to the doctor's until the pain becomes unbearable.

    Keep up the great work!

  • hey this could be the makings of a youtube based support group :D

seriously though how many women get pilondial cysts? cuz i feel like the only one out there. Lucky me, i think mine's coming back~after surgery has already been done.. *sarcastic yay* i had a feeling it would bc i had to look up info on it on the internet my surgeon didn't tell me squat.

  • I too, have this problem. I had the puss drained and have been relatively fine for about nine months now. Sign me up for the support group.

  • The more I learn about the recovery process and the rate of recurrence, the more a feel I made the right decision to just live with mine. I've had it for over 10 years.

  • Epic, thats all i can say.

  • Any idea of how much that percentage decreases by each time you have a flare up??

I'm four flare ups and two open surgeries in :S

There defiantly needs to be more support groups for these things, and for someone as young as me talking to adults, youd think I was talking about murdering someone, not talking about how painful and humiliating it is to have one of these damn things :P

Like the video, more people need to be informed of these things; in this case ignorance is defiantly not bliss!
