Ghosts Of Rwanda (9/12)

A history of the Rwandan genocide in which the Hutu Racial extremists the Interahamwe systematically slaughtered the Tutsi people and non-racist Hutu's. Told through documentary evidence and interviews with every major figure involved it documents the incredible brutality but also the kindness and heroism of those involved.
A gruesome, grotesque and deeply powerful documentary which tells of the horrors of the events and of the reaction to mass murder by each major Western government. To turn away, to not care or to pull support from them.
On a personal note I have taken the time to do this as no documentary has meant more to me than this and as Darfur rages on its message has never been more important.

As a Belgian, I am so terribly embarrassed of our politicians' decision to pull out. We had the forces on the ground, armed and ready and we left, we just left. And 10 of our own guys died for nothing, and 800.000 Tutsi's died for nothing.

@classicrange760 well at the moment I'm only trained to be a teacher which I'm doing an excellent job at (words of my school and district administrators)....but if I was trained to be a soldier which I'm clearly not ...I would have given it my all which I don't think the General did

@enchnated Im saying the UN failed Delaire. Imnot saying he did a perfect job, but you cant hang the complete failiure on him. Have you ever served? have you ever served asa UN soldier? Ask those that have at the feeling of utter failiure a lot of those soldiers have because of how useless the UN is at soldiering. I do not believe I said he did a brilliant job...did I??? @classicrange760 Im sure if you watched the entire documentary you would have noticed people with much less resources and influence than General Delaire did a whole lot to help even in the smallest way ...perfect example were the Red Cross guy and Captain Mbaye who helped many to escape...so If you really think General Delaire did a brilliant job at saving the Rwandan people then your sense of what help and rescue is..is really distorted dear
