Thats not true at all the red shells end if you miss

I watch the walkthrough before, it shows that if you use red shell on one enemy, when the enemy is die, it will auto aim the other enemy, not the green shell function

Here's a tip: when fighting the love bubble (and the soul bubble later on) when she attacks (bottom screen) if she's in the air, then she's only aiming for one of the bros. If she lowers to the ground, then it's aiming for both of them.

It looks like you had trouble with them so I thought I'd tell you. I get confused sometimes as well.
