Road trip South Africa 2010 - part 4/5

This is a video I made of a road trip 3 friends and I made through beautiful South Africa over January 2010. The month long trip started in Johannesburg. First stop was Umhlanga and then all the way to Cape Town along the coastal route and back to JHB. It was an amazing experience and will never be forgotten! Hopefully this video will inspire others to make there next adventure South Africa you will not be disappointed!
The trip was more or less planned as we went along. We literally booked our accommodation as we were driving to the next spot thats the beauty of doing this during off peak season, as we didnt have to book in advance we could stay more nights at places we liked and skip the ones we didnt. Besides a dodgy backpacker in Ireland, the whole backpacking experience was new to me. And I absolutely loved it! The backpackers all had there own style and always one big party. From now on I say no thanks to hotels and hell yeah to backpackers!! It was also real easy to find a good backpacker thanks to 2 wee gems known as the Alternative route and Coast to Coast free backpackers guides that list and rate all the backpackers in South Africa.
So the stops we made are as follows
1.)Geoff and I left Joburg and met up with Candice and Niel in Umhlanga.
2.)Next Day we left Umhlanga and headed to Coffee Bay. This was meant to be about a 6 hour journey which ended up taking 12 hours as we thought it was a good idea to follow a GPS. It wasnt a good idea! The GPS took us on the 4 hour dirt road through rivers and pretty much the middle of nowhere at night! Luckily we had enough fuel and enough spare tyres! We stayed at a backpacker called Coffee shack AWESOME!
3.)Next stop was Buccaneers in Chintsa. Cool spot with awesome backpacker. Abit quite but im sure it get really wild during the busier times.
4.)Next was East London. Didnt really like it too much and the backpacker we were recommended didnt have secure parking so we ended up staying at a not so nice spot just for a night.
5.)Next day we went inland to Hogs Back Awesome! We went for a 2hr hike through the forest and ended up being lost for more than half the day!
6.)After finding our way we headed to Addo Elephant park. Really cool. Got play with elephants, snakes, meerkats and other creatures.
7.)Next was Lungile backpackers in Port Elizabeth. Lots of tasty sea food, diving and surfing!
8.)Island vibe in Jefferys bay was probably my favourite stop of the trip. Lots of partying and lots of surfing for the ones that can handle the hangovers.
9.)Next up Storms river. We wanted to do the black water tubing here but unfortunately the river was dried up due to a drought. But we made up for that by doing the worlds highest bungee jump at Bloukrans Bridge 216 metres!
10.) Definitely the hottest day of the trip was spent Natures Vally. Not sure what the temperature was but it was close to unbearable!
11.)Next was Plettenburg Bay. Really nice but also really expensive. Its also the location of the most awesome experience of my life the tandem skydive. Apparently its one of the most scenic drop zones as well.
12.)Next Island vibe in Knysna. Really cool and different town. Unfortunately the weather wasnt so good.
13.)Next we went to Hermanus which is the lowest part of Africa and where the Atlantic and Indian Ocean meet.
14.)And last but not least Cape Town. Unfortunately we lost most our photos from Cape Town. Another let down was that the photos of the diving in the aquarium were taking in black and white.
