Dave Grohl is an exception to the rule. Yes, he was a bit of a "wayward" youth (drug experimentation/high school drop out/drummer), but if you review his life carefully, you'll see had drive and intention. THAT'S what you must have to compensate for the lack of a diploma. If you don't have that in your teens, you really should stay in school. Otherwise, you'll probably fall into the slacker/loser category, not Dave Grohl's category.

If you drop out of school AT LEAST get your GED and go to a Junior College. lol You can always transfer to a University if you have decent test scores. It's the preferred route for early musicians that are committed to music.
