Jeremy, I think we are getting off into the weeds. I am merely commenting on LOGOS as a tool for the family, and family Bible study. Is it a tool that will help the churchgoer gain a deeper knowledge, better prepare for family studies, and congregation meetings. Yes. If you Google it as a review of the product, almost all rate it as the best tool. Anyway, I wish you all the best.

Contrast what I just posted about Logos with BibleWorks who say with BibleWorks 9: "we have increased support for WINE".
This is rapidly becoming a post-Windows world, and Apple is not the only game in town. At least BibleWorks acknowledge this.

Logos have had the better part of a decade to get their cross platform support together, and they haven't. It is unlikely I'll see your material on my computer because Logos wont even offer minimal Wine support (software that allows people to run Windows software on Linux without the need of an emulator). They don't even have to do the work, they only need to provide the open source community with enough information to get it working. They wont even do that. So I wont be buying their software.

Part 2 Jeremy. As a publisher of two Bible related journals myself, I am well aware of the cost to get the message out. When my 8 books went on Logos, it took four months of labor to get the integrated into the system. That is a lot of man hours. They do not just scan a page. But I am certain you know these things. It sounds like your experience was a long time back, and things may be far different. Let us be Christlike, and forgive past issues, and give them a new look.

Jeremy, you are confusing me with a Logos employee. I am just a customer like you. I am just sharing my personal knowledge of how it has benefited me. Not every company makes good decisions all the time, but a truly Christian one will learn from their mistakes. I think you should give them another look. You make not be aware of all the man hours that goes into bringing a book to the people. I am an author, who also has his books on Logos as well, so I do have a little skin in the game, but cntnd

A lot of pastors use Ubuntu you know. But you don't know, you've never researched it, you didn't listen to them in your own forums going back quite a number of years now. Back when Logo's first said they were going 'cross platform' you could have done it properly and easily supported all major platforms. But you had no foresight. When Logos was in beta for Mac, you even expected Mac users to pay for the privilege of being your beta testers!

Not for me as it doesn't work on my computer. And I'm not changing operating systems just to run Logos software. You wont even support Logos on Wine. Several software makers have now proven that if you make great software for popular Linux distributions, users will pay for it. Logos was disgusting demanding that Linux users pay them money before Logos would even consider doing a port. But Android apps started appearing pretty quick didn't they? Android is also Linux you know.

Jeremy, the tough economy has us all watching our last dollar; and this is the reason that Logos is such a great resource for the churchgoer. They are able to buy into smaller packages, like the starter package, you are getting $3,500 in books for a mere $294.95, and they even let you make payments at $29.58/mo.

DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE: Logos Bible Software started as a great tool for Bible scholars and pastors. However, the last few years they have become a leader in developing the best software for the churchgoer, who is a serious Bible student. As a CEO and President of a journal that is specifically geared toward the churchgoer, I highly recommend that all, who love the Word of God, who want an easier way to access that Word, to take a serious look at Logos.—Edward D. Andrews
