December's Children - The Lovin' Things (1968)

The song was written by Arthur "Artie" Schroeck and Jet Loring. Artie Schroeck
first released in January 1967. A version by Bobby Rydell was put out as a 45 on the Reprise label in January 1968. Then in April 1968 UK group The Marmalade released it and took it to the UK Top Ten. Later that year US group December´s children also released it with a somewhat different orchestral
arrangement than the Marmalade version. "Lovin' Things" finally became a hit in the US when a The Grass Roots covered it in early 1969.

  • okay I don't know which version I like most, this, The Marmalade or The Grass Roots??? LOL

  • Good version of this song.

  • Artie is my cousin

  • It was also recorded in 6 languages by Petula Clarke and an instrumental version by the Ventures. The Marmalade finally took it to #1 in the UK
