The Baby Tree, originally recorded on Paul Kantners first solo album, "Blows Against the Empire". Live performance audio from PKs 65th birthday show. Vocals by Diana Mangano and Paul Kantner.

BATE included the fist use of the "Jefferson Starship" name, not to be confused with the 80s group Jefferson Starship. In actuality a collaboration of artists, PERRO (many from the bay area), supported Paul and Grace Slick in this effort.

Paul continues to tour and record as "Jefferson Starship" along with David Freiberg and Slick Aquilar. Grace has retired from music and now exhibits her paintings, including "White Rabbit" themed work as well as self portraits.

  • snarfsniff1 - Glad you made it back home.

  • I b liking this

  • Aw man - I used to sing this to my son when he was still in the womb - he recognized it as a newborn, and it always comforted him when he was fussing.

We changed the lyrics of the last verse to "they NEVER pass by all the babies that cry; they pick'em up and hug'em till they smile" so as not to give the lad a complex. :o)

  • First heard this song while sitting on top of a hill in war-torn Vietnam
