Niger Food Crisis:

Poor and erratic rainfall since last year has left to widespread failure of crops and death of livestock. More than half the population have used up almost all their entire food reserves from the last harvest and are resorting to desperate measures to cope. 278,000 children under five are at risk of suffering from severe malnutrition and 1,200,000 children from moderate malnutrition if the humanitarian response is not both quick and substantial.
