Delete the Background of an Image in Photoshop CS3

also... i know I replied a lot mostly to users but for professional results DONT USE THE MAGIC WAND, it does a terrible job on edges and doesnt know what to delete, best to do this with the eraser tool.

@Felldeeen91 save as a GIF, I don't know the process 100% but a PSD will save it in layers so you can open it up later and do some touchup work when needed, where as with a GIF I've seen many people do this online where if you open the image in photoshop with no background its transparent.

@anasshah11 its your other color selected, so for example if your first color is black and your other color blue ... when you delete blue will be your background color. I've done this a long time to the point I've made money, so if anyone wants tips to get better at photoshop let me know

when i press delete it deletes the unselected part too.WTF?

@gettinaway7 put the second image in a layer, and place that layer below the one with the cut image
