@EPI6fingers Eddie "the drunken moron" "the one trick pony" Van Halen said rethinking Jimmy Page:"He's a genius. He's a great player, a songwriter, a producer. Put it this way, he might not be the greatest executor of whatever, but then you hear a Page solo, he speaks.I've always said Clapton was my main influence, but Page was actually more the way I am, in a reckless-abandon kind of way." Pages acoustic work makes EVH look like a child, look at rolling stone, chop shop polls chump

nice... Dave's no Plant. But...an honest cover. Good effort.

superb cover

I still want Eddie after all these years! LOL!

@magnum9987, you're kind of an idiot. Bonham DID hit harder than anyone but he was subtle. He just used his wrists which made him look like he wasnt hitting hard. While everyone else was just bashing the drums like monkeys, John Bonham was hitting harder than ANY of them, but made it look easy. Instead of just bashing away with arms flailing, he just used his wrists.

@dickravis I've seen the song remains the same several time. I've read many accounts of great drummers and they all say the same thing, bonham hit harder than any of them. And he has perfect time and rhythm
-
@magnum9987 total myth - bonham did not hit harder than everyone - he was pretty moderate. you don't have the phenomenal stick control that he did if you're hitting like dale crover.
watch song remains the same again if you're unclear on this ...and stop spreading this bullshit while you're at it.

@EPI6fingers Generally teh Energy and Buzz of Zep shows from 1971 back was much more intense than later Zeppelin which was more Massive Collage Pieces structured around Plant and jones having more input..like The Rain Song, Kashmir, Ten Yrs Gone, Achilles Last Stand etc etc ....Bootlegs Like Live on Blueberry Hill show the intensity of pages guitar work much better with assorted medleys of there vast knowledge of Blues Roots and Rock N Roll ...and improvisations on classic numbers of their own
@dokken447 People think Bonham was the greatest because he was the greatest. He could do with one bass drum what literally everyone else needed two bass drums for. And thats not with a double pedal. Not to mention he hit harder than any fucker their ever was, with perfect time and technique

@TruthAxe Your post is just hilarious, precisely, is the ONLY drummer Bonham rock / heavy blues that can compete with all these great drummers with jazz roots, his playing was clean, powerful, groovy, smooth and full of breaks, that's why it was unique, Bonham is one of those rare musicians to justify his reputation. Includes music and analyzes the circumstances instead of the airs of connoisseurs because you listen to lesser-known musicians (I like a lot)
