  • are do you mean osmotic or oncotic pressure in relation to increased Na?

  • implying that when the integrity of the cell membrane becomes weakened (ex. during cerebral ischemia) then the [Na+] begins to increase intracellularly. Water will travel down its osmotic concentration gradient from higher concentration of water extracellularly to lower concentration of water intracellularly through the process of osmosis
