    The month of May 1974 was a special time for "The Streak". It hit #1 on May 18, 1974 for a 3 week stay and went on to sell 5,000,000 copies. It was the #1 novelty song of the entire decade and was among the Top-10 songs of the year in 1974. It reached #1 in Canada and the United Kingdom, too, and the Top-5 in Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia.
