ABC-Space Patrol

Space Patrol can trace it's beginning to 1950 as a west coast local production. It ran on ABC in 1951-52, and on ABC Saturday mornings via kinescope for several years in the 1950's. @SenorZorrozzz It was cheap 'filler' footage to run between live segments. I still get a tingle watching clouds sweep across the sky, and I'm pretty sure it's a holdover from watching SPACE PATROL. You don't have to approve---didn't ask you to, come to that.

Space Patrol was broadcast from 1950-1955. It was also syndicated in 1958, which is why numerous prints have that legend on them. Check my friend Jean-Noel Bassior's excellent book SPACE PATROL: Missions Of Daring In The Name Of Early Television. It's got the whole story of the show.
