  • Any veteran heli pilot that bashes these types of stabilization systems is both hypocritcal and jealous. Would you fly without a tail gyro? I didnt think so. All helis have some type of stabilization, so to bash one type and not the other shows your ignorance to new tech. These systems have multiple uses and are great for learning orientation, they can also be defeated as the pilots skills grow. So give people a break, this device makes it easier for more people to embrace the hobby.

  • Best demo of how stable helicommand is i've seen.

It's not cheating - it only kicks in when you screw up and release the sticks - it just recovers to a hover for you - exactly what you want when you're learning - and inevitibly lose attitude sense.

And great for photography - as the previous poster commented.

I'm learning without one and i sure would have loved someone to have recovered the heli for me on all my crashes to date! Just can't justify the one-off purchase cost.

  • @wjkssmd the thing with sims are, they are boring. I can fly a heli with the sim, but when you have the real thing, the noise the wind, it becomes a lot harder. Helicommand is a good way to learn, and far better than any sim.

Not the best vid i seen but it shows how good it can be, and it's a pain in the ass to set up, and you will need the pc software as well at £50.

  • If you want to learn to fly... use the simulator... start with the large birds learning to hover... progress to smaller and smaller birds.. It take a while, don't think you are going to learn this in a month... I flew one of these systems yesterday. It is not like flying the real thing, but it does make it possible to buddy box with a pilot.

  • Lol, be carefull though, I got caught in a bad wind, and let the helicommand correct it only to find that i had it switched off, crashed in less than 2 seconds

  • Helicommand is a valuable tool to protect your precious scale masterpiece. Also, it improves confidence in new pilots, reducing number of crashes. Therefore, it would keep repair cost to minimal. Main reason why beginers get discourage to this great hobby.

Also, this device could be deactivated with a flip of a switch and resume normal flight when desired by the pilot.

  • i dont care this tool will allow me to jump a stage up im getting it for my 60 nitro airwolf just in case looks great im going to bye one this week

  • hmmm

  • The Helicommand dramatically limits the possibility of crashing also. RC Helicopters are usually an expensive investment. In my case I have 2 fully operational RC Helicopters that's 15 years old and no way of getting parts.

  • Oh and to the naysayers - we all know you probably spent a lot more than the cost of this device in repairs when learning to fly, so it doesnt surprise me you'd be jealous of it. Quit being so bitter because you didnt have it when you were learning. This is a valuable tool and pays for itself by reducing crashes, not flying the heli for you. It still teaches orientation better than sim and takes the edge off crashing your $700 model. But just like any training tool, people will outgrow it.
