I have a Pajero LWB 20013.2l engine. 250,000 km and top mechanic in Mitsubishi Ireland said the engine sounds perfect. I bought it with 186,000km, changed the 2 front wheel bearings, now about to change CV joint. temp sensor, giving false reading cost €7 to change it. other than that. I love this 4x4.
Sound like you other guys got a bad one. I know a few people with the Pajero and absolutely love them..... sorry for you guys getting a lemon
@boxersbeatbrawlers its a timing chain and if u can hear one rattle from it get it checked, check the internet its a common fault the adjustors snap and fall into the belt mangling the engine, this car is by far the worst iv,e owned and i had an older shogun which was bulletproof, the newer just are not up to the job anymore sad to say. also check the pulley for the cam belt as these snap easily as well i know, it happened on the same car get them to do the jobs before u hand over any money m8
yeah, the timing belt service is at 60000. thats bullshit. i havent known one owner who has had a repair other than the cam seal which is easy, otherwise 200000 miles easily without major work. they should know the reputation, and its even under manufacturers warranty there, unless its old. Im buying one now, with 65000, from a dealer, and they still havent done the timing belt. pre certified, lol, yeah im taking that down 2 grand those douchebags.
yeah ive driven a mitsubishi shogun 3.2 elegance that destroyed its own engine at 50,000 miles, the nice people at mitsubishi didn,t want to know now at 59,000 miles the part of their crappy engine that survived the snapped timing chain has give up as well, my advice don,t buy there cars i,m damn sure i never will again
