Leslie Parrish (and her carefully sculpted nose) looks so devilish in this episode that it can be hard picturing her as a decent human being. She was perfect for the role of "femme fatale" of sorts.

Tony Blake suspects that Lydia (Parrish) is involved in the worst way in the dilemma of a little girl and her falsely accused father. He invites her over for drinks aboard "The Spirit"--his mobile home and private jet--and sets her up. Are Tony Blake' suspicions unfounded or will she take the bait?

[Just found a website to "vote" for TV shows on DVDs and it has "The Magician" listed, but after the painstaking process of registering, it won't allow voting! A nice concept but the website is hard to navigate and looks 1995 obsolete with minuscule font. Refreshing the page didn't help either! If anyone knows anything about that or if they fix the system, please let me know!]

TRIVIA: Leslie Parrish was 39 years old when this episode was filmed.

She would soon marry Richard Bach, author of "Illusions" and "Jonathan Livingston, Seagull" whom she met during the making of the JLS movie, in 1973, a year before she appeared in this episode.

  • Thanks Sam! It says I can't post videos to this, I want to attach my new one ;)

  • Let me fix that. Please try again in 3 minutes.

  • Ok Cal. Your video response with your Bill Bixby/Parrish impressions has now been approved. I'm setting the new ones for approval upon review but not going back to the old ones, LOL!

  • Ah yes, the exquisite Leslie Parrish. She really did me in as a young boy. Aside from that astonishing face, she had the best legs on television. Thanks for the memories.

  • You're very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • god she's so beautiful!

  • Youre right, Sam Hill. Leslie was like Linda Evans evil twin sister. In real life, Leslie is an angelic presence, but she really sparkled as the bad femme fatale. In the 60s, Leslie, Susan Oliver and Diane McBain were definitely the TV Blondes. Between the three, I dont think there was a TV show they didnt cover. Hard to believe they were considered the B List. The A List was Carol Lynley, Yvette Mimieux and Tuesday Weld, who supposedly had more movie star potential.

  • What a flashback this is! I had forgotten how stunning Leslie Parrish was! Wow!

  • haha, that's fine. Thank you much Sam! Now people will see the original and then mine again :P

  • Just don't make him angry, lol.

  • Leslie Parrish gave some stellar TV performances. Notably, Star Trek (Who Mourns for Adonais) and Big Valley (Bounty on a Barkley). My favorite though is a Mannix episode (DVD, Season 1) entitled The Girl in the Frame. Its about a fake Renoir, a portrait of a beautiful, blonde nymph frolicking near a stream. Leslie plays the girl in the picture. How wonderful is that? A portrait of Leslie painted in the style of Renoir. The final scene with William Windom is priceless.
